Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Review

My Review of the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor

People are usually confused when it comes to buying additional attachments for a food processor that works just fine unless it’s for spare parts. Many people fail to grasp that by purchasing these, they will actually be upgrading an already existing unit that will start serving more than one purpose.

Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor

What’s in the Review

  1. We’ll list and consider all of the food processor specifications and features
  2. We’ll take a look at customer reviews, both positive and negative
  3. I’ll give this product our final rating

Specifications

  • This duo attachment set fits specifically the SmartPower blender Model Cuisinart SPB-7
  • Includes pusher, feed tube, bowl, shredding disk, chopping blade.
  • 3-cup capacity
  • The top rack is completely dishwasher-safe

Positive user reviews:

  • I’m really satisfied with these food processor attachments. I now make home-made pies, dips, pesto, and cookie dough all the time…
  • The attachments arrived on time and in good condition. The parts look like they’ve been made out of good quality plastic. It’s really light and easy to use…
  • It fits perfectly on my blender and just gives me so many options at such a small cost. I love it. I now cook up to 3 times per week since it cut my prep time in half…
  • These food processor attachments save up so much space on my kitchen counter because you just need to attach it to your blender, and you get great results and actually have two kitchen appliances at a significantly lower price..
  • I bought this as a replacement for parts for my Cuisinart food processor and it saved me so much trouble and money because I didn’t have to buy a new one. Doesn’t take up much cupboard space either.
  • It’s great because it saves up so much of your time. I used to get my knuckles bloody by the time I’d be done with 2-3 pounds of hard cheese, and now it’s grated in seconds. It also does a wonderful job on vegetables, seeds, nuts, dough, hummus, pesto, you name it.
  • Got delivered on time. No issues, no problems, no complaints so far…
  • It cut my prep time almost in half, and I’m quite satisfied with this product. I think it would also make a great gift.
  • I bought this one as a replacement for the parts my husband dropped by accident. They’ve been great so far, and I guess they’ll work until he drops them again 🙂
  • I’ve purchased this product recently after living without a food processor for almost a year after my old one died on me. I’m so happy I’m once again motivated to cook home-made meals because the prep time is significantly shorter now. No more junk food for me, no sir…
  • Fast shipment, arrived in good shape. It would’ve been so difficult to find parts for my old unit, and like this, I just replaced the whole thing because the motor was intact. Great design, well-built, and most importantly, parts are really easy to clean…
  • The blades are super sharp and they do a great job, both mixing and pureeing my meals. Great for chopping and mixing. I’m so glad I found it; I didn’t want to go through so much trouble of finding a completely new food processor. Now I’ve just upgraded my old Cuisinart…
  • It is great that I didn’t have to buy a whole new food processor, but just attach new parts to my blender. Such an innovative and inexpensive solution…
  • Does a great job on tricky food like various nuts and herbs, great for vegetables and dough….
  • I would definitely recommend it as an inexpensive, practical, and easy solution. Now I make much more fresh and healthy food because I don’t have to cut vegetables by hand.

Negative user reviews:

  • A word to the wise: be very careful when washing the blades. They are very sharp. I learned this the hard way…
  • One of the attachments arrived broken. I was contacted shortly after demanding a replacement, and it got delivered as fast as the first time…
  • They just didn’t fit my old blender…

My Review

First, I tip my hat to people from Cuisinart for making these attachments and selling them separately. They really are an inexpensive solution to not having a food processor, especially if you already have a blender. They are also great for spare parts and are much cheaper in comparison.

As a person who worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for so long, I’m really glad to see that there are high-quality attachments/spare parts available at a fraction of the cost

Just be careful when washing the blades by hand. I recommend you pop them in the dishwasher.

Cuisinart DLC-2007N Food Processor Review

My Review of the Cuisinart DLC-2007N Food Processor?

But don’t you worry a thing, because I’m here to help you.

As an ex Quality Assurance Manager and after writing these reviews for years now, I can definitely say I’ve seen it all, and more importantly that I have your best interest in mind while I’m writing this review.

Cuisinart DLC-2007N Food Processor Review

Here’s what you can expect in this reviews:

  1. We’ll list all of the product specifications of this model
  2. Then we’ll go through user reviews, both good and bad
  3. In conclusion, I will give this product my final rating

I hope that this review will give you the most answer to the question- is this product suitable for your needs? So, without any further ado:

Product Specifications:

  • Shatterproof bowl with 7-cup capacity made of Lexan that is dishwasher-safe
  • Wide mouth supreme feed tube fits whole fruits and vegetables; no pre-cutting
  • Shredding disc, stainless-steel slicing disc, dough blade, and chopping/mixing blade
  • Automatic adjustment of speed for proper and dough consistency and perfect results
  • Built to fit Electrical Standards of USA and Canada

The Pros

  • We’ve had this food processor for a little over a year, and we couldn’t be happier with it. No complaints so far.
  • It’s extremely easy to put together and put apart this food processor, and the cleaning time is next to nothing. It’s such a time-saver.
  • This is my first food processor, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It cut my prep time in half, and especially the shredding disc. Now I make salads all the time…changed my life…
  • It’s the perfect size for my big family. If you’re looking for a food processor that is well-made and affordable, and you intend to use it daily, I would definitely recommend this Cuisinart.
  • The motor is super powerful, and yet so quiet while at work. My wife and I are glad that we took a chance with this food processor since we knew nothing about it…
  • I was really hesitant at first, but the 3-year overall and 10-year motor guarantee persuaded me. Now I’m happy we got this food processor because we have it for 5 years now and we have no complaints…
  • It’s a very sturdy machine and yet light enough for me to carry it around and move it from one surface to another. It’s convenient for storing as well.
  • I can say that I’ve never owned a food processor that could chop, grind or mince half as good as this Cuisinart. It does a wonderful job without turning everything into mush. No lumps as well.
  • There are no crevices on which food would catch, and I’m so happy that the cleaning part is now so much easier. I just pop it in my dishwasher and I’m good.
  • The smaller inner pusher piece can be removed, which just made my life so much easier…
  • The DVD instruction manual that came with it was extremely helpful. The blades are really super sharp and can process anything in a matter of seconds…
  • It doesn’t “dance” around my kitchen counter even if it has such a powerful motor. It’s also really quiet while on, which is really important for us because we have a baby on the way.
  • We’ve had it for a little over a year, and so far it did everything it promised it would…
  • It chops up food really fast, even peskier pieces like nuts. It’s great for mixing cookie dough as well.
  • It doesn’t turn everything I put in into smithereens, like my old processor.

The Cons

  • It has this really tricky mechanism for locking down the bowl before processing; I simply couldn’t get the gist of it…
  • I wish it had some kind of separate container or holder for the blades. Now I have to wrap them in paper and stash them somewhere out of my kids’ reach…
  • Take extra caution when washing the blades by hand. Now I truly get the meaning of razor-sharp…
  • I wish it had more than two speeds, I’m used to more options when preparing my food and having more control over the process in general…

My Review

This Cuisinart has proven that it can perform well with so many eyes on it.

It passed all of the users’ tests, and there are no typical complaints that usually end users report that would be standard for this line of products.

As an ex Quality Assurance Manager, I can say that this product is definitely worth your money, simply because there are no hidden surprises; what you see is what you get.

However, I would give it a 4.6 out of 5 ratings simply because of its price. It is worth every penny, but most of us are not ready to invest that kind of money in a kitchen appliance.

If you are, you are in for years of high-end help around the kitchen.

A product that will lend a helping hand, cut your prep time in half, turn into a kitchen sidekick, and free huge chunks of your time. The time that you can spend tending to your other chores or simply enjoying some family time.

Well, let me tell you, with the jungle that the market is today, it’s as hard to choose right. It’s as hard as it ever was.

That’s the spark that made me start this website a few years ago – the idea to cut through that clutter of information and offer you some clarity so that you can make a smart, informed decision.

So, let’s dig in and do the research.

Hamilton Beach 70730 Food Processor Review

What’s in the review

  1. We’ll see all the product specifications
  2. The crucial part – we’ll take a look at user reviews, both positives, and negatives
  3. I’ll give my interpretation on anything that was said and give the product an Overall Quality Rating

Specifications

  • 450 Watts strong
  • installed scraper that scrapes the sides of the bowl – you won’t need your spatula (works both in on and off mode)
  • It has a capacity of 10 cups
  • 2-speed modes and a pulse mode
  • Slicing and shredding discs included
  • Broad tube chute minimizes prep time

The Pros

  • When you see the in-built spatula you can’t help but wonder why isn’t everybody doing this huge time saver
  • Great price…this thing is better than my old processor that costs twice as much…
  • Great for pureeing baby food…
  • Oh, I forgot how much of a relief it is to have a really good food processor…

  • The knives hold their edge for a really long time. I am using it for 6 months now and it works just the same…
  • Don’t spend a small fortune on fancy features and make-up, this chopper does pretty much everything I need…
  • I wasn’t sure about the suction cup at the bottom of the base, but I see that it’s much better to be sure that your appliance will stay in its place if the phone suddenly rings or something…
  • Great for any kind of dough, just be cautious when getting the dough from the blade…

The Cons

  • Don’t try making any liquid food or drinks in this, it will leak…
  • It stopped working after 3rd use, I am sending it back…
  • The one I just got must be defective because it spontaneously stops in the middle of the job…

My Review

Obviously, the first thing that caught my eye here is the in-built spatula. It’s one of those things that makes me think: “Oh, why didn’t I think of that while I was still working in the industry”.

One of the main issues with food processors is that, unless the bowl is carefully designed to avoid it, your food might not be evenly chopped, sliced, or pureed because it sticks to the wall. This design eliminates that issue.

I don’t think that 2 speeds (and pulse) are enough and I am not sure why would Hamilton Beach cut corners there. They know that to get optimal results, different kinds of foods call for different speeds of chopping and slicing. That one is a big downside in my eyes.

I guess that they were trying to cut costs and come to the market with a budget item, but I also know for a fact that different settings in motor speed would not add that much to the cost.

I also think that with the other qualities (motor strength, even chopping and slicing because of the spatula, solid design…) customers would not care much about “splurging” extra 10 bucks.

Overall, it’s a product that will be good for 80-90% of the needs in a regular household.

  • It’s great for homemade hummus, salsa, dressing, sauces. I’m really looking forward to trying out all the recipes I had in mind when I ordered this…

  • It chops well, without mashing the food. It’s super-efficient, especially in the pulse mode.
  • Doesn’t take much storage space…and that’s important for NY studio apartment life…
  • It’s a great chopper and food processor. It’s really sturdy and easy to clean.

  • This little bad boy cuts my food prep time in half. No more junk food for me…
  • This chopper is great. It’s really easy to use and cleans up super fast. No complaints so far…

Negative Reviews

  • The clear plastic part broke after a month, I’m waiting for a replacement…
  • Unfortunately, the motor unit can’t be put into the dishwasher, only the container. I had to learn this the hard way…
  • It was OK, but now with a baby on the way, we’ll have to find something a little bit more baby-food orientated.
  • The razor is too sharp. Don’t put it anywhere a kid can reach it or something.
  • Great at chopping and mincing, but I still do my dicing…

My Review

The very best thing about this product is that it’s so compact, powerful and yet very quiet.

I know how B&D design the housing of the motor and they’ve always been setting industry standards on that front.

Precisely crafted slicers will not make much of your food when you try to chop it. The sides of the bowl are designed so that the food is “flushed back” into the center.

These details in design are what make all the difference when it comes to even chop. Many food processors will make a pure in the center of the bowl and still have whole pieces on the walls. Not this one.

I’ve been struggling to find some downsides to this product to tell about, but I am having a hard time doing it.

It’s a small piece but carefully crafted to do just what it was meant for.

Hamilton Beach 70550RL Food Processor Review & Ratings

It’s really hard to decide what we really need and will use and what are just marketing tricks.

That’s what this website is about – helping you make sense of it all.

I worked as a Quality Assurance Manager for years and I know how to tell the difference between the true value for your money and a piece that will not solve your problems but become an additional one, no matter how affordable it is.

Hamilton Beach 70550RL Food Processor Review

Positive User Reviews

  • Best food processor I’ve owned so far. Easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store…

  • I’ve crunched some numbers, and after owning this food processor for a little over 3 years I’ve saved so much money in the long run on junk and takeout food. It now takes me less time to make a salad or a home-cooked meal than to wait for a fatty takeout meal.

Negative User Reviews

  • The company sent me the wrong model of Hamilton Beach that I haven’t ordered…really frustrating…

  • I’ve been using it for 5 weeks and it just won’t start anymore. The cost of shipping it back and forth exceeds the cost of the unit.

My Review

We’ve arrived at the very end of our review. Here is where we’ll put it all into perspective and make sense of it all.

Let me start with an aspect of the design I really don’t like. This will explain why I gave this processor a 3/5 rating in durability even after seeing all the positive reviews.

I am talking about the fact that the motor is side-mounted. I know the internal workings of such pieces and there’s too much that can go wrong. Too many mechanics and belts involved.

I would personally never get a food processor with a side mounted motor.

Having said that, I can’t ignore all the positive reviews and this product seems better than most of the models that use a similar design.

So, let me put it this way:

The best model with a motor on the side can’t even come close in durability to the medium quality processor that features a motor installed at the base of the processor.

Why?

  1. Too many mechanics involved
  2. Greater chance of material wear and fatigue
  3. Much more friction -> much more heat-up – > much greater chance of some of the electronics melting

It is a bargain, but I would think twice before getting this product, even at that price.

My Overall Quality Rating is 4.0 out of 5 stars.

You can do much better, even at that price range, take my word on this one.

Are Cuisinart Food Processor Parts Hard to Find

Are Cuisinart Food Processor Parts Hard to Find?

The short answer is not really. The longer answer depends on where you live. Food processors are strange beasts in the kitchen. Extremely powerful and durable. They will pulverize pretty much anything you put in

KitchenAid KFPW760WH Food Processor Review

KitchenAid KFPW760WH Food Processor Review: Is it the Best From KitchenAid?

If you are looking at the customer reviews, this baby might be one of the best choices for your home.

But here is the issue – you might be looking at reviews that became obsolete in the meantime.

Here’s why…

What if the company outsourced the production since the customer review was written?

I worked in the industry for years, I know every trick in the book and even for me, it’s getting increasingly difficult to stay on top of things.

That’s why I came up with a simple system to ensure that only quality products have their place on my website. I stick with these 3 simple rules.

  1. I review products that are made in North America
  2. I review pieces that are made in Western Europe
  3. I remove the products from my website when I learn they are outsourced to a location I know might mess with the quality of a product

That’s how I ensure that the visitors of my website have only high-quality food processors on their screens.

But, enough ramble, let’s dig into this review and see if this KitchenAid lives up to the expectations.

This review will be broken into 3 parts:

  1. We’ll take a look at what the company is saying
  2. We’ll take a look at what the customers have to say – both PROs and CONs
  3. I’ll interpret everything said and give my final verdict on whether I think this processor deserves to be in your kitchen

*when you look at the second rule, you might think: “But wait, she just said that the user review might become obsolete.” Let me remind you that I remove products that I learn are outsourced to fishy locations, so all of the experiences you’ll see here still stand.

So, let’s get straight into it:

KitchenAid KFPW760WH Food Processor Review

Specifications

  • 700 watt strong, 12 cup volume bowl
  • highest quality blade (stainless steel)
  • very quiet (features a sealed housing design)
  • pulse control
  • two feed tubes ( one for the mini bowl with its own blade)
  • A smooth base makes cleaning easy
  • Safe to use in a dish-washer (bowls, blades, discs)
  • 16-1/8 x 8-5/16 x 10-2/5 ” in size
  • full 1-year warranty (complete replacement rights)

So, KitchenAid thinks highly of their product, but it’s only bragging until we see what the end-users are saying – so let’s do that.

The PROs:

  • I bought this in 2011 and it’s still going strong…completely satisfied…
  • I heard they are not making this thing anymore, so I got an extra one that just sits in my closet. I think that says a lot about my experience with this product…
  • It chops everything from hard meat to veggies with ease…
  • I use this for a wide variety of jobs, which made my kitchen life so much easier…
  • Just the right size for 99% of the jobs I need to do…
  • Love how the tube is very wide, I have to pre-cut things only with the long vegetables…
  • Just as advertised…
  • Well beyond my expectations, especially for the price…
  • I don’t know the reason behind KitchenAid discounting this piece every once in a while, but I am waiting for the next discount to get one for my sister…
  • It does everything from shredding cheese to making salsa…if only it could make my bed, too…
  • After six months of using this baby, I can say that it’s a real bargain…
  • Bought this for a friend and she can’t stop talking about it…
  • I owned a processor that cost twice as much (it died a few months ago), so I got this one…I can’t really tell the difference so far…

The CONs:

  • My lid broke and I had to replace it…
  • I had this processor and loved it for over 3.5 years until the motor broke. Now they are saying that it will cost me over 50 bucks to send it back for diagnosis and see if can be repaired…disappointed, judging by the reviews I thought this thing will go on for at least ten years…
  • Not a fan of the design and the colors…

My Review

If America’s Kitchen Test rates something like ‘best’ for years in a row, you can calmly get it without overthinking. I know how thorough these guys are with their reviews.

And if you find a product on my website, you can be sure that the quality hasn’t changed.

With this kind of product, I spend most of my time looking at the negative reviews and see if I can find any deal-breakers. Didn’t find any of those here.

I found what I know are exceptions and simply cases of getting a flawed product. I am basing this on my experience as a Quality Assurance Manager.

This is where the customer services steps in, and I know for a fact that Kitchen Aid is very customer friendly (hail to Brian 🙂 ).

Overall, great value for money and a solid investment.
