Peach Kefir Ice Cream

Peach Kefir Ice Cream

If you’ve never tried kefir, I suggest you do. You’ll find it fantastic. If you’re a yogurt worshipper like me, you’ll love it. If dairy is not your cup of tea, kefir also comes made with coconut milk and tastes delicious.

I made kefir ice cream a few days ago. It was as soft and unctuous as an ice cream prepared traditionally with cream and eggs. I was enchanted.

I now can make ice cream more often without feeling guilty. In fact, I feel so good about eating an ice cream made from kefir and fresh fruit I have been eating it for breakfast for the last couple of days. Way to start the day on the cool side.

Peach Kefir Ice Cream Recipe

3 to 4 servings

  • 2 cups peach-flavored kefir*
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • Dash cinnamon
  • 1 small peach, peeled, pitted, and finely diced
melted Peach Kefir Ice Cream

Whisk together the kefir with the honey and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Transfer the mixture into an ice cream machine and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Stir in the diced peach as the mixture begins to thicken.

Transfer the ice cream to a lidded container and freeze until set, about 3 hours.

*If peach-flavored kefir is not available to you, blend plain kefir with 2 peeled peaches and two tablespoons of sugar or honey.
